Privacy Policy

Overview

NFT Wallet is a non-custodial desktop application. Your private keys and seed phrase are stored exclusively on your device, encrypted with AES-256. We do not have access to them - ever. This privacy policy explains what information we do collect, why, and how you can control it.

What We Collect

We collect minimal, anonymized data to improve the product:

  • Crash reports (optional, opt-in during installation): stack traces and system information when the app crashes. No wallet addresses or NFT data are included.
  • Anonymous usage analytics (optional, opt-in): aggregate feature usage data - which screens are visited, which features are used. No personally identifiable information.
  • Email address (only if you voluntarily subscribe to our newsletter or contact support).

We do NOT collect:

  • Wallet addresses or private keys
  • NFT holdings or transaction history
  • IP addresses linked to wallet activity
  • Any biometric data

Local Data Storage

NFT Wallet stores all sensitive data locally on your device:

  • Encrypted wallet keys and seed phrases (AES-256, never transmitted)
  • Portfolio cache (locally indexed, never sent to our servers)
  • Application preferences and settings

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it.

Third-Party Services

To provide real-time NFT data, NFT Wallet connects to third-party APIs:

  • Blockchain RPC nodes (Alchemy, Infura, QuickNode) to fetch on-chain NFT data. These services may log your IP address per their own privacy policies.
  • NFT metadata APIs (OpenSea, MagicEden, Reservoir) to fetch NFT images, floor prices, and rarity data.
  • Bridge protocols (LayerZero, Wormhole) for cross-chain transfers - on-chain transactions are public by nature.

We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of these third parties. When possible, NFT Wallet batches requests to minimize data exposure.

Analytics Opt-Out

Anonymous usage analytics are opt-in. You can change your preference at any time:

In-app: Settings > Privacy > Usage Analytics > Toggle off

Crash reporting can be disabled at: Settings > Privacy > Crash Reports > Toggle off

Disabling analytics does not affect app functionality in any way.

Data Retention

  • Crash reports are retained for 90 days, then automatically deleted.
  • Anonymous analytics are aggregated immediately and raw events are deleted within 30 days.
  • If you contact support via email, we retain correspondence for up to 2 years.

You may request deletion of any data associated with your email at any time.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including:

  • The right to access data we hold about you
  • The right to correct inaccurate data
  • The right to request deletion of your data
  • The right to opt out of analytics at any time

To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@nftwallet.org. We respond within 30 days.
